INTRODUCTION
The title of my English Portfolio is âAbProspectusâ. This is actually a literal latin translation for the word 'InSight'. The reason
that I have chosen this title is two-fold. Firstly, I hope to be able to highlight the insights which I have been able to gain
throughout the entire year while working with the English Language. Next, I also hope to be able to use it to allow myself to be able
to show my writing and reading philosophy. This philosophy is one of using writing to both gain, and to express my insights on
whatever subject I am writing on. I hope that through reading 'AbProspectus', you, my reader, will be able to also agree with my
comments on my learning, and to also agree with the choice of title.

'works' details some of the works which i have done during my spare time over the course of the year.
'pieces' contains some essays which i have done for school assessments.
'tagg' contains a tagboard where readers could post comments on my works.
MY WORKS
This is a place which showcases some of my works which i feel are worthy of being part of the English Portfolio. They are done on top
of my basic English and Literature curriculum, and are mostly poems, which i have come up with on the spur of the moment. Hope you have
as much fun reading them as i had making them.

I feel that this essay is definitely a rather good piece of work. It was done under rather harsh conditions, as I seem to recall having to do this piece of work, while also attempting to handle some other assignments at the same time.
However, sad to say that while my marks may have improved, I have sadly failed in fulfilling some of the goals which I set in my previous essay reflection. This can be seen from the fact that I did not really proof-read the essay. Rather, any proof-reading I actually did was mostly slip-shod and hence, my marks suffered to some extent. Another problem is that the essay deviated from the question by a bit. The original question was focused on the word 'weapon'. However, by reading my essay, you will notice that there are only a few mentions of the word 'weapon', with most of the emphasis being placed on the word 'tool'. Therefore, I think here I would like to set another goal. To be able to better read the questions in an essay by my next essay.
A bright point about this entire essay would be the fact that I have actually succeeded in organizing my points to a greater degree. The points in this essay were rather well-organized, and allow the reader to be able to read the content without much difficulty. Therefore, while this essay my not have progressed in some of my other goals, I feel that I have made some progress, however little. We shall just have to see what will happen in the next essay when it comes up to determine if I have really improved, or if it is just merely a short passing phrase.

CONCLUSION
As the first year that I am embarking on the compilation of my best works to show my development as a thinker, writer and reader,
I feel that this has been definitely a memorable year for me and English as a language and as a writing tool. There have been many
ups and downs, which have helped to shape my thinking and writing style. The portfolio has been arranged in such a way that it will
be both able to show my development, and to also showcase my best works. The works shown in the portfolio have largely been organized
in a chronological order, as my development over the entire year has been more or less also chronological.
To end off, I feel that this year has most definitely enriched my experience with English. It has allowed me to be able to better
appreciate the English language as a whole. This is especially so in terms of reading, as I have read books which have really
stretched my reading capabilities, instead of just merely remaining in my usual reading comfort zone.
Thank you for reading AbProspectus.
